BioDiesel:
BioDiesel is a clean burning alternative fuel made from several different renewable resources including corn, vegetable oils and even animal fats. BioDiesel contains no petroleum, but can be blended in any ammount with regular diesel to create a BioDiesel blend. This makes biodiesel a popular energy alternative with the major oil companies.
BioDiesel can be used as fuel on its own, or blended with regular diesel in any percentage. Biodiesel is bio-degradable, clean-burning, non-toxic, and works in any diesel engine without modifications. It is made from sustainable, locally grown crops, reducing the need to buy foreign oil.
Global Warming:
Oilseed plants, like canola, remove CO2 - a greenhouse gas - from the atmosphere. Through photosynthesis, the canola plant converts the gas into the oil used to make biodiesel. When biodiesel is burned, CO2 is released back into the atmosphere in a cycle resulting in a 0% net increase of CO2 into the atmosphere.
